Travel to the Stotesbury Cup Regatta

Driving directions, GPS coordinates, and maps for navigating to the Schuylkill River race venue.

Entry Gate Location: The Entry Gate to the Stotesbury Cup Regatta is located on Kelly Drive directly under the Strawberry Mansion Bridge.

Google Maps: Navigating via Google Maps to the "Furness Gateway" will direct you to this location. Note that traffic on Kelly Drive will only flow in a single direction INBOUND to the City.

Driving Directions

Select your starting region for detailed turn-by-turn directions to the race venue.

From New York / New England
  1. From southbound New Jersey Turnpike (NJTP), take exit 6 to Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276 West).
  2. Follow PA Turnpike to exit 25A (Mid County).
  3. Take this exit (keeping to the left) and follow signs to I-476 South (Chester).
  4. After toll booth, take I-476 South to exit 6 (junction with I-76 East, the Schuylkill Expressway) Philadelphia/Valley Forge.
  5. Take this exit (on right), stay in left lane of exit and follow signs for Philadelphia.
  6. Follow I-76 East to exit 340 on the left.
  7. Take this exit and stay in the left lane as you go over City Avenue Bridge across the Schuylkill River.
  8. Stay left and follow signs for Kelly Drive.
  9. The off-ramp will curve downwards in a counter-clockwise direction and will merge you onto Kelly Drive, southbound.
  10. Be very careful, especially if you are pulling a boat trailer on this tight, descending curve!
  11. Move to right lane of Kelly Drive after merging at the bottom of the spiral.
SPECTATORS: When approaching the Entry Gate / Regatta Detour, stay to the left to proceed along the Regatta Detour and to off-site paid parking.

TRAILER DRIVERS: Take Kelly Drive past four traffic lights. The first building on the right, between the river and Kelly Drive, is the East Park Canoe Club. Only volunteer schools with Gillin Lot Privileges may park in this area. Most teams will continue another 3/4 mile to the Athlete's Village near the Three Angels.
From Scranton / Allentown
  1. Take Northeast Extension of PA Turnpike (Route 9 South) south to exit 25 (Mid-County).
  2. Take this exit (keeping to the left) and follow signs to I-476 South (Chester).

From Washington, DC / Baltimore / Wilmington
  1. Take I-95 North through Wilmington to Philadelphia International Airport and follow signs for Phila Center City via Route I-76 or Schuylkill Expressway.
  2. Take exit, I-76, Schuylkill Expressway, west. This takes you across the Penrose Ave. Bridge across Schuylkill, a.k.a. Route 291.
  3. As soon as you come down bridge get in left lane, as you will turn left at first light onto 26th Street.
  4. This will take you directly onto I-76 west. Follow I-76 about 8 miles, past Boathouse Row and the race course.
  5. Follow I-76 West to exit 340 on the right.
  6. Take this exit, turn right at foot of exit and get in the left lane as you go over City Avenue Bridge across the Schuylkill River.
  7. Stay left and follow signs for Kelly Drive.
